A Protein Blend uses a mixture of two or more proteins such as: Casein, Whey (Concentrate and Isolate), Egg, Beef or Soy. You can also find protein made from only Whey Isolate, Casein, Beef or Egg on this website.
Whichever you choose, your main concern should be about getting a complete protein. Complete proteins feed your muscle by supplying all of the 8 essential amino acids (EAA). Incomplete proteins cause the body to feed off of its own muscle to obtain the missing EAA.
Some companies don't provide the information about which amino acids are in their protein, arguing that they want to protect their formula. Other companies don't have any problem revealing this information. Our opinion is, if they can't tell us which amino acids are in their protein, we don't know if their protein has all of the 8 EAA. So we must classify them as incomplete.
You deserve to know what you are buying and putting into your body, and that begins with truth in labeling.
